"In the last video we talked about if it was just like  one defendant driver and then you  or just one single person. But now I want to talk about if there's other people that are also in your car.  So  using the example that if the defendant driver has a 30-60 policy, if this defendant driver crashes into you,  and I hate to say it, if they kill everyone in the car,  the max amount would be 30,000 per person or a total  of 60,000 for everyone in your car.  And then they can cut you a check or cut a check for the persons in your car and then they can  many times

be completely off the hook for that.  How you can protect yourself is that if you increase your uninsured motorist or underinsured motorist coverage to the max amount, you can then seek a claim against your own insurance.  Here's an example. Let's say defendant driver has a 30-60 policy.  You can have a million dollar policy, so it would be one million per person or one million for the entire aggregate.  So then if this defendant driver crashes into you,  severely hurts or kills  people in your car,  then  you can seek the 60,000 from the defendant driver

and then make a claim against your own UIM,  UM coverage for the million dollar policy in this example.  It's a really good idea to call your insurance company and talk about  how you can increase your UIM, UM coverage. I hope this helps. I hope that the other videos help. Please check those out and please share this with other people that you know, because it's really important to understand how to protect yourself  against all these other crazy drivers on the road."
