Can You Sue Your Ex for Breaking Your Stuff?

Featuring
Tim Miranda, CFLS
What to expect

"If your ex destroys your stuff during a breakup, can you sue them? Yes, and you probably should. Depends on what stuff.
The fact that somebody's going through emotional turmoil or is grappling with the end of a relationship is not an excuse for doing that.

What can you sue them for? You can sue them for the damages.

If you're in family court, you can get a restraining order. That's a form of abuse, destroying someone else's property. Ultimately, you want to get that person out of your life one way or another, and you need to be made whole financially for the damage that they've caused you."
