"What's a red flag in a marriage that you often see people overlook?
By the time that people come to me, the relationship is already over, but often times it was pretty clear that at least 12 months prior to that, there'd been a significant change where there's a lack of communication or some other degradation in the relationship.
Other big things that people maybe don't overlook, but they don't seem to really take too seriously are issues related to drugs, alcohol abuse, mental illness, and of course domestic violence. They often chalk it up to stress or other factors, but these are real problems that can end a relationship and end it really poorly."
